Finding a quality shop online could mean finding one with resources to help guide you through the purchase process and by resources, I mean a real live experienced person, not a computerized “Prop Calculator”. Look for a high level of expertise among trained/experienced propeller technicians. How long have the employees of a certain company been in the business of propeller repair/selling propellers? Look for businesses employing experts in the field having staff members with decades of experience that will make your purchase easier and correct the first time.
However, if you purchase a prop and it is not quite right, see if propeller adjustments or exchanges are a possibility. If you need an adjustment, find out if the company offers adjustments or exchanges on propellers when you find you need it after ordering. Even if there is a small fee ($49.95) attached to adjustments, this level of service is exceptional. Always ask: Are they a real Marine Business with a Resell Certificate or Propeller Shop Certified by the National Marine Propeller Association (NMPA)?
